Magic in the Ordinary

There is magic in the ordinary. There is magic in the things we can see. Birth is a miracle, love is a miracle, death is a miracle. Forgiveness is a miracle, especially if you can learn to forgive yourself.

We seem to think that only extraordinary occurrences can be magical. However, we seem to take for granted the beauty in the ordinary. Small gestures of politeness, kind compliments or just a simple smile can turn a bad day into a small miracle. When Niall said this quote to Sookie after she asked him to help cure Bill, it seemed idiotic that he answered in this manner. However, there is a kind of miracle in death. Or I should say that when we depart, our impact on others can be the miracle. If we leave our wisdom and spirit within the hearts of our loved ones then we have created a miracle when we pass away.
