No Greater Isolation

There is no greater isolation a man may experience than to be lonely in a crowd. He may nod, and smile, and say the right thing, but even by this pretense his soul is pushed further away from the kinship of men.

Speaking with experience, I understand how hard it can feel to be sitting in the middle of a crowd while feeling so alone. Some people choose this isolation because of fear or anger. Others do not fit in with the crowd because they are truly unique. No matter the reason why they feel alone, it will always hurt to be so remote. However, I think that the strongest people are those who can embrace the loneliness and who are comfortable enough with themselves to spend that much time alone.
