When the End Came

The way I figured it, when the end came, you were probably going to be surprised. Surprised it took so long. Surprised it came so soon.

I think that our survival instincts make this quote true. For one reason, we always hold out hope that we will survive one more day, so when death comes we are not expecting it. On the other hand, I think that when we want the end to come it takes longer than we can handle. Death is such a powerful part of our lives that it will always be a shock.
