Gandalf from "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"
Ever since I read the first “Lord of the Rings” book,
I have always loved the character of Gandalf. To me, his character is one that
presents a pretense of unassuming wisdom but who has great power within. That
is why I think this quote represents him so well. In a way his fireworks are an
example of the small deeds of ordinary folk. They were simple things but they
created a lasting impression of hope in the children who saw them.
